Not really. That design was a Pininfarina style exercise or show car or whatever you want to call it.

Granted, it was based on a Ferrari platform (a racing car, actually). But it was not Ferrari’s idea, and it was not ordered by Ferrari either.

Those look like bucket seats from any sports or muscle car from the ‘60s

It’s the seat arrangement.... Not the design/material.

Well PininFarina is definitely part of Ferrari when it comes to their vintage cars, And it’s a street car that still exists today so I definitely agree this interesting 3 seat center drivers seat was done long ago. Frankly I’d take that one off Ferrari of a Mclaren anyday because ferrari v12 sex mm

I know it is a street car. It was based on a racing chassis, mid-engined, because the old man just did not want to know about mid-engined Ferrari street cars (and he took quite a while to accept it for racing cars, too). He only reluctantly accepted the idea of a mid-engined Ferrari-engined car of his by creating the “Dino” sub-brand.

No doubt Pinin Farina and later Pininfarina is enormously important in the history of Ferrari. But please do not confuse a styling exercise by Pininfarina with Ferrari mechanicals with the Ferrari company itself. It took them quite a while to accept the idea of a supercar with the engine other than in the front - and maybe the only reason why it ultimately happened was because of Lamborghini and their Miura, which was selling rather well.

It is indeed a lovely car. Maybe not terribly practical though, but who cares, particularly now.
